Hotel Xa’an

“We had a great time and ended up extending our stay! It’s simple yet stylish and comfy! Has a really nice communal roof top where you get simple breakfast (coffee, bananas, cereals) until 11am. The pool is great too and everything is clean. We stayed there with our one year old son and found the location perfect as it’s not in the center but only a 10-15min walk to the main square. A few little shops and taco places closeby..”

“Nice little hotel about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town / lake. Budget but good value for money and the little pool is great for an evening swim. Only downside was no water at all for a day/night but possibly a wider issue in Bacalar so not their fault. Also we went to their 'beach club' Tropic Monkey on the lure of free entry but it's hardly a beach club and kayak prices were higher than anywhere else so I'd suggest give that a miss.”

“Quiet lovely place and nice prices! Very helpful front desk, spacious and clean room. Beautiful pool/lounging area and rooftop terrace. Quite small but still possible to make friends with fellow guests. Recommended!”

“Hotel was great! Center is 10 mins per walk, the pool was clean, rooms were clean and comfortable. Fyi, the room we had was just 2 beds, tv, aircon and something to put your jackets on. Then you’ve the bathroom and that’s it. But we didn’t need more. You can also sit at the top and enjoy the night with some drinks (you need to get it by yourself before. Markets are very near). Both receptionist were able to communicate in English and we booked a tour because the price was the cheapest (compared with getyourguide and TripAdvisor). Breakfast includes coffee, some kind of Kelloggs, toasts and some fruits. Room was cleaned daily. Parking before the hotel is possible for free. Just one thing. Water pressure is different. It’s kinda low and the shower is special. But it works and we didn’t see a problem at all. Price is cheap and totally worth it! Also you can meet some nice ppl at the pool. Depends who is staying there. :D”

“Simply amazing, the rooms are great, clean and big. The terrace with the hammocks is just lovely but most of all, the hostes, Anna, what a treasure. She just makes you feel welcome and handles everything you ask. From reservations at the best restaurants to advice, she is an amazing guide and wonderful person.”
